Mansfield Woodhouse is a large village immediately north of Mansfield in Nottinghamshire, England, with a compact historic core that has gradually become part of the wider Mansfield urban area. Geographically it sits on the edge of the old Nottinghamshire coalfield and close to the remnants of Sherwood Forest, giving a mix of post‑industrial and rural character with suburban housing, local shops and parks.
Historically a separate village with medieval roots, the settlement expanded significantly during the 19th and 20th centuries with coal mining and related industries; since the pits closed the local economy has shifted towards retail, light industry and commuting to nearby centres such as Nottingham. Community life remains strong, with sports clubs, churches, pubs and annual events keeping a distinct village identity despite being part of the Mansfield conurbation.
