Chadderton is a town in the Metropolitan Borough of Oldham, in Greater Manchester, sitting on the fringe of the Pennine foothills roughly seven miles north‑east of Manchester city centre. It has a largely suburban feel with pockets of older terraced streets from its industrial past and some fringe green spaces, giving a mix of urban and semi‑rural character.
Historically the town grew rapidly during the Industrial Revolution as a centre for cotton mills and related industries, leaving a legacy of former mill buildings and a strong working‑class identity.
