Littlemore is a suburb and ward a few miles south‑east of Oxford city centre in Oxfordshire, historically a separate village that has been absorbed into the city. It sits close to areas such as Cowley and Blackbird Leys, and combines ribbon development and post‑war estates with pockets of green space and allotments; buses provide regular links into the city and to nearby workplaces.
The area has a strong local identity: its 19th‑century connections with John Henry Newman and the Anglican community are still part of the cultural memory, and a former Victorian psychiatric hospital on the edge of the ward has been redeveloped in recent years. Economically it’s a mixed residential area with light industry and local shops, and many residents work in the car industry, hospitals or the city centre while community groups and local churches remain important to social life.
