Kennington is a village and civil parish just south of Oxford in the district of Vale of White Horse, Oxfordshire, England. It occupies the southern fringe of the city with easy road links via the A34 and sits close to Abingdon, which makes it popular with commuters while retaining a recognisably village feel.
The community combines historic buildings and a parish church with more recent housing, local shops, pubs and active community groups, and benefits from surrounding agricultural land and riverside walks by the River Thames. The area was historically part of Berkshire until the 1970s local government changes, and today Kennington balances conservation of rural character with the pressures of housing and transport growth.
