Upper Lambourn is a small village in West Berkshire, England, tucked into the chalk downland of the Lambourn Valley and the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The landscape is classic Berkshire Downs - rolling chalk hills, ancient trackways and scattered barrows - so it feels rural and scenic even though it's part of a well-known cluster of villages.
Locally the village has a strong equestrian flavour: the whole area is often called the "Valley of the Racehorse" and many gallops, stables and racing-related businesses shape the economy and day-to-day life. There’s also a quieter farming and village community life, with footpaths and bridleways popular with walkers and riders and a history that stretches back through medieval settlement into prehistoric times.
