Eden and Lyvennet Vale is a largely rural ward in Westmorland and Furness in north-west England, occupying rolling farmland and river valleys around the Eden and its tributary the Lyvennet. The landscape of drystone walls, hedgerows and winding lanes favours sheep and mixed farming and draws walkers and cyclists looking for quieter routes outside the nearby Lake District.
The ward’s character is shaped by small stone villages, parish churches and historic farmsteads, with local pubs, community halls and seasonal events underpinning village life; tourism and rural enterprises supplement the agricultural economy. Since 2023 it has been administered as part of the new Westmorland and Furness unitary authority, reflecting long-standing connections across the Eden Valley and its cultural landscape.
