Ballyhenry is a largely residential ward in the borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey, situated in County Antrim to the north of Belfast. It sits within the commuter belt, with a mix of suburban housing, pockets of green space and modest local shopping, and relatively straightforward road and public-transport links into the city.
The area retains a quiet, community-focused feel: local churches, schools and community centres help anchor social life, while small businesses and retail serve day-to-day needs rather than heavy industry. Historically it grew out of rural roots into suburban neighbourhoods during the 20th century, and its proximity to larger employment and commercial centres shapes much of its economic and social character today.
