Glengormley is a suburban ward on the north‑eastern fringe of Greater Belfast, inside the borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey in Northern Ireland. It sits where suburban housing gives way to open countryside and lower hills to the north, and benefits from good road and rail links into the city, which have made it a popular commuter area with a mix of residential estates and small retail and business parks.
Originally a cluster of rural settlements, the area expanded strongly in the post‑war period and today combines local shops, schools, community centres and sports clubs with modern retail outlets and pubs. Like many north‑Belfast suburbs it was affected by the Troubles, but in recent decades there has been steady investment and community regeneration, producing a socially diverse neighbourhood with active local organisations and easy access to nearby green spaces.
