Randalstown is a small town and electoral ward in the borough of Antrim and Newtownabbey, set in County Antrim on the banks of the River Main and close to the western edge of Lough Neagh, with good road links into Belfast and the surrounding countryside. Its riverside position and nearby Randalstown Forest make it popular for walking, fishing and other outdoor pursuits.
The area retains a compact historic core with buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries and a legacy of market‑town and light industrial activity, while today it functions partly as a commuter community and partly as a local service centre with small businesses, sports clubs and active community organisations that stage seasonal events and volunteer projects.
