Eriska is a small tidal island off the coast of Argyll and Bute, sitting at the mouth of Loch Creran and linked to the mainland by a short causeway near Benderloch. The island’s sheltered setting gives fine views across to Morvern and Lismore, and the shoreline and surrounding waters are rich in seabirds and marine life such as otters and seals.
The island is a privately managed estate centred on a 19th‑century country house that has been converted into a hotel, and the business of hospitality and estate management plays a key role in the local economy and community. Visitors are drawn by the combination of rugged coastal scenery, woodland walks, golf and events at the house, while conservation-minded land management helps sustain the island’s wildlife and scenic character, within easy reach of Oban and the west‑coast ferry network.
