Buckie is a compact coastal town in Moray on the north‑east shore of the Moray Firth. It grew up in the 19th century as a busy herring port and still bears that maritime legacy in its harbours, boatbuilding history and working quay, with neighbouring fishing villages such as Findochty and Cullen close by along the rugged coast.
Today Buckie combines a continuing fishing and seafood‑processing presence with local services, small engineering and tourism tied to the attractive coastline and wildlife of the firth (dolphins are a regular draw). The town has a strong community identity - visible in local clubs and events, notably its Highland League football side - and sits within easy reach of the Speyside whisky area and other north‑east attractions.
