Portgordon is a small coastal village on the edge of the Moray Firth in Moray, north‑east Scotland. Originally developed as a fishing port it still shows that maritime heritage in its harbour, sea front and working boats, and offers good views across the firth where bottlenose dolphins and seabirds are often seen; it also sits within easy reach of the famous Speyside whisky region.
Today Portgordon is largely a quiet residential community with a mix of local fishermen, commuters and retirees, and a modest tourist trade from walkers, birdwatchers and people exploring nearby distilleries and coastal paths. The village retains a strong community spirit through local events and amenities, and memories of the old coastal railway line and 19th‑century development still mark its character.
