Mosstodloch is a small village in Moray, Scotland, tucked close to the north bank of the River Spey and adjoining the larger village of Fochabers. It sits just off the A96 and is a short drive from Elgin, so while it feels rural and riverside it’s well connected for commuting and shops. The diversion of the A96 around the settlements has noticeably reduced through‑traffic and made the village quieter in recent years.
Locally the economy and character are shaped by agriculture and the wider Speyside whisky industry, with many residents involved in farming, distilling or commuting to nearby towns. Community life is typical of a small Moray village, with a village hall, clubs and outdoor pursuits on the Spey such as walking and angling, and a modest historic footprint that includes past railway links and traditional local buildings.
