Penbryn is a small coastal ward on the rugged shore of Ceredigion in west Wales, taking in a sweep of farmland, cliffs and sandy bays - most famously Penbryn Beach - with wide views across Cardigan Bay. The Wales Coast Path runs along the coast here, so the area is well used by walkers and birdwatchers enjoying the seascape and dramatic coastal geology.
Locally the ward is sparsely populated with a strong Welsh-language tradition and a landscape shaped by mixed farming. The economy leans on agriculture and seasonal tourism - holiday cottages, small campsites and a few local businesses - and the community balances those visitor pressures with preserving its historic parish settlement pattern and close-knit social life.
