Tregaron is a small market town and parish in central Ceredigion, Wales, set on the edge of the Cambrian Mountains. It sits in a sheltered upland bowl with streams such as the River Brenig nearby and is close to the nationally important raised bog reserve Cors Caron (Tregaron Bog), making it a good base for walking, birdwatching and exploring wild Welsh landscapes.
Historically a drovers' and market centre, Tregaron still has a strong agricultural character - sheep and hill farming remain important - while tourism, small-scale crafts and local services now help sustain the economy. The town retains a lively community life with chapel and village institutions, annual agricultural shows and strong Welsh-language traditions that give it a distinct rural identity.
