Y Ferwig

Y Ferwig is a small rural community in Ceredigion, sitting close to the mouth of the Teifi estuary and the sweeping coastline of Cardigan Bay. The landscape is a mix of rolling farmland, hedgerows and narrow lanes opening out towards estuary marshes and coastal views, so it’s popular with walkers and birdwatchers and benefits from the marine life of the bay, including the resident bottlenose dolphins offshore.

Locally the economy is largely agricultural, supplemented by holiday lets and small-scale tourism, and the area retains a strong Welsh-language and community identity with village halls and church events keeping social life cohesive. Historic features and traditional cottages give the parish a quiet, timeless feel, while proximity to the market town of Cardigan provides shops and services within easy reach.
