Neyland sits on the north bank of the Milford Haven Waterway in Pembrokeshire, Wales, and grew up in the mid‑19th century around a purpose‑built harbour and the Great Western Railway’s western terminus conceived in the Brunel era. Its importance as a ferry and rail port waned after services shifted to Fishguard, but the town still bears a strong maritime imprint in its quay, slips and historic waterfront layout.
Today Neyland is a compact community with a working marina, marine services and light industry, while many residents commute to nearby Haverfordwest or Pembroke Dock. It’s popular with sailors, walkers and birdwatchers who use the estuary and coastal paths; locally there’s a lively community feel centred on boating, outdoor activities and the town’s maritime heritage.
