The western part of Neyland in Pembrokeshire sits on the west bank of the River Cleddau, looking across the estuary to Milford Haven. The ward includes stretches of waterfront, a marina and riverside paths that give it a distinctly maritime character, with saltmarsh and birdlife nearby and convenient access to the coastal countryside.
Historically the town expanded in the 19th century as a railway and port terminus for the Great Western Railway, so remnants of dockland and maritime trades still shape the local identity. Today the area is mainly residential with local shops, sailing clubs and some light industry, and has seen investment and community-led regeneration that emphasise riverside housing and leisure facilities.
