St. David's (Tyddewi)

St. David's sits at the far west of Pembrokeshire in Wales, tucked into the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park and surrounded by dramatic cliffs, sandy bays and offshore wildlife-rich isles such as Ramsey Island. The area is anchored by the medieval cathedral and Bishop’s Palace ruins that give the settlement its city status and longstanding pilgrimage and cultural character, while nearby surf beaches like Whitesands Bay add a strong outdoor and nature appeal.

As an electoral ward it combines a very small, close-knit resident community with a seasonal tourist economy and local services that cater to visitors, artists and outdoor enthusiasts; farming and small-scale fishing also feature in the hinterland. It is represented on Pembrokeshire County Council and faces typical rural issues such as seasonal pressure on housing and infrastructure, balanced by an active civic life, festivals and a strong sense of local identity.
