Llandrindod Wells is the county town of Powys in mid-Wales, tucked into the attractive Radnor Valley beside the River Ithon. It developed as a Victorian spa resort in the 19th century and still shows that heritage in its pump rooms, ornamental parkland and bandstand, with a station on the Heart of Wales Line serving the town.
Today the town’s economy mixes local government and public services with tourism, arts and small businesses; as the administrative centre for Powys it has a busy civic life, while festivals, an active arts scene around the Albert Hall and proximity to the Elan Valley and the Cambrian Mountains make it a popular base for walkers, cyclists and visitors interested in Victorian heritage.
