Gwersyllt is a large village and community on the northern edge of Wrexham in north‑east Wales, sitting between the urban centre and the surrounding rolling countryside. Its position gives residents quick access to the amenities of the county borough while still feeling connected to rural walks and green spaces on the valley slopes nearby.
The area grew in the 19th century around coal, clay and brick industries and the coming of the railways, and traces of that industrial past are still visible in the local landscape and street pattern. Today Gwersyllt is largely residential, with schools, shops, sports clubs and active community groups sustaining a strong local identity while many people commute into Wrexham and beyond for work.
