Gwersyllt is a large village and community just north of Wrexham in north‑east Wales. It sits on rising ground above the valley of the River Alyn, mixing suburban streets with nearby countryside; the village is within easy commuting distance of Wrexham city centre and the English border, and is served by a railway station on the Borderlands Line with trains towards Wrexham and Bidston.
Historically the area grew up around 19th‑century coal mining and clay extraction, and traces of that industrial past survive in local place names and community memory. Today Gwersyllt is largely residential with local shops, schools, community groups and sports clubs, and it attracts people who value a mix of accessible services and nearby green spaces for walking and outdoor leisure.
