Halton is a small village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, set on the chalk slopes of the Chiltern Hills just above Wendover and a short drive from Aylesbury. Its elevated position gives broad views over the Vale of Aylesbury and makes it popular with walkers exploring nearby woods and ridge routes.
The village is notable for its links with the Rothschild family, who commissioned the imposing Halton House in the late 19th century; the estate later became the site of RAF Halton, a long‑standing training establishment that has strongly influenced the local economy, housing and community life. Today Halton mixes a rural, agricultural character with military heritage, a handful of historic buildings and a compact local community centred on the parish church and village activities.
