Maidenhead sits on the southern bank of the River Thames in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead, England, about 20 miles west of London and close to Reading. It began as a medieval market crossing and still shows that history alongside Victorian and more modern suburban development, with pleasant riverside stretches and a strong commuting identity.
Today it’s an affluent commuter town with fast rail links via the Great Western Main Line and the Elizabeth line and easy road access to the M4, supporting local business parks and light industry. Culturally there are riverside pubs and rowing clubs, and nearby attractions such as the Michelin‑starred restaurants of Bray and the stately home at Cliveden, making it popular with both residents and weekend visitors.
