Taplow is a small village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire sitting on the north bank of the River Thames opposite the famous gardens at Cliveden, just west of Maidenhead and close to the M4. Its riverside setting, historic lanes and proximity to commuter links into London give it a mix of peaceful countryside character and easy accessibility.
Historically notable for the high-status Anglo-Saxon "Taplow" burial unearthed in the 19th century (many of the finds are in the British Museum), the village also features the Victorian country house Taplow Court and a small station on the Great Western Main Line. Today it combines an affluent commuter population, attractive riverside properties and local pubs with the tourism and events drawn by nearby estates and the Thames.
