Houghton Regis in Central Bedfordshire, England is a small town on the edge of the Luton–Dunstable conurbation, lying just northwest of Dunstable and southwest of Luton. It benefits from convenient road links via the M1 and A5, yet sits close to the chalk ridge of the Dunstable Downs and the Chiltern Hills, so countryside and walking routes are never far away.
With medieval origins the settlement grew through local industry and more recent housing development, and today combines residential neighbourhoods, light industry and new estates. Local life is community-focused with parks, sports clubs and a modest high street, and proximity to attractions such as Whipsnade Zoo gives a mix of suburban convenience and easy access to outdoor recreation.
