Rainow is a small village in Cheshire East, England, sitting on the western fringe of the Peak District. It occupies a pleasant valley beneath the gritstone ridge of Kerridge and close to Tegg's Nose Country Park, with Lamaload Reservoir and open moorland nearby, so it’s a popular base for walkers, cyclists and anyone who enjoys exposed upland scenery and craggy edges.
Historically the area grew from farming and small‑scale quarrying, and today it combines local services and village life with a significant number of people who commute to Macclesfield and Manchester. There’s a strong community feel, a handful of independent amenities and regular outdoor‑oriented visitors, which together give Rainow a relaxed rural character with easy access to bigger towns.
