Elton is a small village and civil parish in Cheshire West and Chester, in north‑west England. It sits a few miles north of Ellesmere Port on the edge of the Mersey estuary and is overlooked by the extensive petrochemical and oil infrastructure around Stanlow, which gives the area an unusual mix of rural lanes, farmland and heavy industry.
Historically an agricultural settlement, Elton adapted as nearby industry and road and rail links changed the local economy; it is served by Ince & Elton railway station with connections towards Chester and the Wirral. The village retains a small‑community feel with a parish church, village hall and local clubs, and its juxtaposition of traditional Cheshire countryside and large industrial complexes is a notable feature of the locality.
