Hooton is a small village on the Wirral peninsula in Cheshire West and Chester, sitting just south of Ellesmere Port and close to the River Mersey. It has good rail links - Hooton railway station is on the Merseyrail network with direct services into Liverpool - which makes it popular with commuters while still feeling semi-rural.
The village is best known for its aviation heritage at Hooton Park, a former First World War airfield with surviving historic hangars that attract local interest and preservation groups. Today the area blends a quiet residential community with nearby light industry and business parks, and offers easy access to coastal and countryside amenities on the Wirral.
