Bebington is a town on the eastern side of the Wirral Peninsula in Merseyside, historically part of Cheshire. It sits a few miles from the River Mersey and has good rail and road links to Liverpool and Chester, so many residents commute while the town maintains its own cluster of shops, pubs and community facilities.
Its 19th‑century growth was shaped by local quarrying – notably the Storeton quarries whose sandstone was used in regional buildings – and by proximity to industrial and philanthropic developments such as the model village at Port Sunlight. Today Bebington still shows Victorian and Edwardian architecture, enjoys green spaces like Arrowe Park and Storeton Woods, and retains a fairly active civic and sporting life that gives it a friendly, village‑like feel despite being close to larger urban centres.
