Crantock is a small village on the north coast of Cornwall in England, sitting beside the sheltered Gannel Estuary just across from Newquay. Its wide, sandy Crantock Beach backed by dunes and sandbars is popular with surfers and walkers, and the tidal estuary gives the area a distinctive coastal landscape and birdlife.
The village retains a strong sense of history - its parish church is dedicated to St Carantoc and has medieval origins - and has shifted from a past of farming and fishing to an economy dominated by tourism and holiday accommodation. Despite the seasonal bustle, Crantock keeps a lively local community with a pub, village hall and surf culture, and a quieter character outside the summer months.
