Gunwalloe is a small, coastal parish in Cornwall, England, tucked on the western side of the Lizard Peninsula close to Helston. The landscape is a mix of sandy coves and low cliffs - most famously Church Cove - with coastal heath and farmland, and the South West Coast Path giving walkers dramatic sea views and easy access to secluded beaches.
Locally the community is small and seasonal, with an economy centred on farming, fishing and tourism; you’ll find a quiet, lived-in atmosphere rather than any large resort. The medieval church of St Winwaloe perched by the cove, plus a long history of shipwrecks and smuggling, gives the place a strong historic character, while birdwatching, surfing and cliff-top walks remain popular with visitors.
