Millbrook is a small village on the eastern edge of the Rame Peninsula in south‑east Cornwall, overlooking a sheltered creek that opens into the waters off Plymouth and the Plymouth Sound. Its position on a sheltered estuary and close to the mouth of the Tamar has given it a maritime feel: small boats, oyster and fishing traditions and easy access to coastal walking make it a popular spot for sailors and walkers alike.
Historically the village grew around fishing, farming and small‑scale boatbuilding, and you’ll still find stone cottages and a few traditional pubs that hint at that past. Today many residents commute into Plymouth, while tourism, yachting and local services form the backbone of the local economy; being on the Rame Peninsula also means it’s a quiet, community‑minded place with regular village events and strong links to the surrounding countryside and coastline.
