North Petherwin is a small rural village and civil parish in north‑east Cornwall, close to the border with Devon and a few miles north‑west of Launceston. Set among rolling farmland and hedged lanes, it retains a compact historic core centred on a medieval parish church and scattered hamlets, reflecting its long agricultural history.
The local economy remains largely agricultural with some small businesses, holiday lets and commuters to nearby towns; socially the community is active with village events and a village hall that brings neighbours together. The quiet lanes and countryside make it popular with walkers exploring the Cornish–Devon border, and the parish’s history and rural character give it a distinctly timeless feel within England.
