Boyton is a small, rural parish in east Cornwall perched beside the banks of the River Tamar close to the border with Devon. The area is characterised by rolling farmland, wooded river valleys and quiet lanes, offering pleasant views across the Tamar valley and a sense of remoteness compared with the busier coastal resorts.
Its economy is largely agricultural with a scattering of traditional farmsteads, holiday lets and residents who commute to nearby towns. Historic layers are visible in the village through an ancient parish church and several older buildings, and local life tends to be community-centred with village events, walking, birdwatching and visitors exploring the Cornish–Devon fringe.
