Penwithick and Boscoppa lies on the edge of St Austell in central Cornwall, a mainly residential area that mixes suburban streets with surrounding countryside. The neighbourhood grew around small villages and has become more built-up in recent decades, offering local shops, schools and community facilities while still feeling connected to the rural landscape of mid-Cornwall.
The area’s character is strongly influenced by the historic china clay industry that shaped much of the St Austell district, leaving distinctive reclaimed tips and industrial heritage in the local scenery. Today the community combines that industrial past with ongoing housing development and active local groups, and residents benefit from easy access to the coast, wider employment centres and the leisure and tourism attractions that draw visitors to Cornwall.
