Ridgeway is a village in the district of North East Derbyshire, in the county of Derbyshire, England. It occupies a high, exposed ridge above the surrounding coalfield, giving good views towards the Peak District and nearby urban centres such as Sheffield. Much of the village character reflects its 19th‑century industrial past, with stone cottages, terraces and remnants of former mining and quarrying activity still visible.
Today Ridgeway is largely a residential community with local pubs, a village hall and small businesses, while many people commute to larger towns like Chesterfield and Sheffield. Its position close to countryside and long-distance footpaths makes it popular with walkers, and the village retains a strong local identity rooted in both rural and industrial traditions.
