Bigbury-on-Sea is a small coastal village on the south coast of Devon in the district of South Hams, England. It occupies a long sandy beach and dune system fronting Bigbury Bay, with sweeping views out to the headlands and the South West Coast Path running nearby, which makes it popular with walkers and families alike.
The village is best known for the tidal causeway and the famous sea tractor that link it to Burgh Island, home to the Art Deco Burgh Island Hotel and a long-standing association with Agatha Christie. Tourism, surfing and hospitality dominate the local economy, and the place has a distinctly seasonal, community-led feel that combines holiday amenities with year-round village life.
