Winkleigh is a small village and civil parish in the district of Torridge, in rural Devon, England. Set on gently rolling farmland, it feels distinctly rural but is well connected for a village of its size, with broad views across hedged fields and a compact centre of traditional stone cottages and a parish church.
The community is active with local clubs, a primary school, pubs and small businesses supporting an economy still rooted in agriculture alongside light industry and services; part of the parish occupies the site of the former Winkleigh Airfield, a Second World War installation whose layout has influenced later commercial use. Social life tends to revolve around village events, markets and the close-knit networks typical of Devon rural communities.
