Dousland is a small hamlet on the southern edge of Dartmoor in the West Devon district of Devon, England. Nestled close to Yelverton and a short drive from Plymouth, it sits among quiet lanes, stone cottages and moorland, making it a handy starting point for walkers and riders exploring the granite tors and river valleys of the moor.
The settlement grew up around a halt on the former branch line to Princetown, and remnants of that railway heritage can still be seen. Today the local economy is largely agricultural and residential, with visitor activity from ramblers and cyclists; community life tends to centre on nearby villages for shops, pubs and parish events, while Dousland retains a distinctly rural, low‑key character.
