Ticehurst is a large village and civil parish in the district of Rother, in East Sussex, England, set in the rolling, wooded countryside of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The parish sits amid river valleys and reservoirs, with Bewl Water and other scenic spots close by, giving a strong rural character and plenty of walking country.
The village has a compact historic centre of timber‑framed and Georgian houses and a parish church, reflecting its long Wealden past of small‑scale agriculture, hop growing and ironworking. Today the local economy mixes farming with small independent shops, cafés and pubs, a number of home‑based and commuter workers, and an active community life centred on village events, the village hall and local clubs.
