Lower Nazeing is a small settlement in the civil parish of Nazeing, within the Epping Forest district of Essex, England. It sits close to the Hertfordshire border and not far from Harlow, lying on low-lying countryside beside the River Lea and the broader Lea Valley. The landscape is a patchwork of farmland, woodland and numerous former gravel pits that have become lakes popular for fishing and watersports.
Historically the area grew up around agriculture, brickmaking and gravel extraction, and traces of that industrial past sit alongside light industrial estates and holiday/caravan sites, giving the settlement an eclectic, semi-rural character. Community life remains village-centred and relatively quiet, while nearby roads provide straightforward links for commuting into London and neighbouring towns.
