Nazeing is a village and civil parish in the district of Epping Forest, Essex, sitting in the low-lying Lee Valley between Harlow and Waltham Abbey. It lies close to the River Lee and the network of reservoirs and waterways that form the Lee Valley Regional Park, giving the area a mix of riverside marshland, allotments and gravel pits alongside classic Essex village features.
Historically the parish grew on agriculture, market gardening and local brick- and glass-making, and today combines a rural feel with light industry, nurseries and a proportion of commuters into London. The village retains timber-framed cottages, a parish church, pubs and community clubs, and benefits from outdoor recreation and wildlife interest provided by the nearby Lee Valley countryside.
