Great Parndon is an electoral ward in the modern new-town of Harlow, in the county of Essex, England. It takes its name from the older medieval parish that was absorbed into the post‑war development of Harlow, so the area mixes mid‑20th century housing with remnants of older rural landscape and nearby green corridors such as the River Stort valley.
Today the ward is largely residential with local shops, community facilities and easy road and rail links into London, reflecting its role as a commuter area, while also benefiting from Harlow’s distinctive public art and planned open spaces. Socially it’s a mixed community of private and council housing with active local groups and a sense of history tied to the original village that gave the ward its name.
