Dalton Piercy is a small village and civil parish on the outskirts of Hartlepool in County Durham, in the North East of England. It sits a few miles inland from the North Sea and the mouth of the River Tees, close to the A19, and has medieval roots - the “Dalton” element points to a valley settlement while “Piercy” reflects later landowning influences.
Today the community is largely rural and residential, shaped by surrounding farmland and by commuting into neighbouring centres such as Stockton-on-Tees and the wider Teesside conurbation. Its quiet village character, occasional local events and proximity to seaside spots like Seaton Carew make it a peaceful base with easy access to the employment and amenities of the nearby towns.
