Watling is an electoral ward in the borough of Dacorum in Hertfordshire, England. It takes its name from the ancient Roman route Watling Street, now followed in part by the A5, which strongly shapes the local geography; the ward is largely suburban with a mix of post‑war and newer housing, local shops, schools and parks.
Locally it behaves as a commuter area with good links into London and to nearby towns, and community life typically centres on neighbourhood halls, green spaces and small commercial areas. The long history of the route through the area leaves a modest historic imprint in place names and older buildings alongside more recent residential development.
