Slip End is a small village in Central Bedfordshire, England, lying just to the south of Luton at the edge of the commuter belt. It sits conveniently close to the M1 and within easy reach of Luton Airport, while the rolling chalk countryside of the Chiltern Hills is not far away, so residents enjoy a mix of village atmosphere and access to both town and countryside.
Originally an agricultural community, Slip End is now largely residential with local amenities such as a village hall, primary school, shops and pubs, and a calendar of community events that keeps a strong social life. Many people commute to nearby towns for work, but the village still shows traces of its rural past in older buildings, lanes and green spaces, alongside small local businesses and light industry close by.
