Cuffley is a village in the civil parish of Northaw and Cuffley, within the borough of Welwyn Hatfield in Hertfordshire, England, lying on the northern edge of the London commuter belt about 18 miles from central London. It sits beside open countryside and streams, close to the Hertford Loop Line railway station which gives frequent services into the capital, and is within easy reach of the M25, so it blends rural character with strong transport links.
The village has a largely commuter-oriented economy with local shops, pubs, a primary school and active sports and social clubs, but it also bears a notable piece of history: in 1916 a German Zeppelin (L31) was brought down nearby and there is a local memorial commemorating the event. Surrounded by greenbelt farmland and woodland, Cuffley retains a village feel while serving as a popular base for people working in and around London and Hertfordshire.
