Brasted is a compact historic village and civil parish in the district of Sevenoaks, Kent, England, sitting on the edge of the Kentish Weald with rolling agricultural land and wooded slopes close by. Its attractive core around the church and village green, a handful of traditional pubs and period houses gives it a distinctly rural character, while nearby countryside and National Trust countryside such as Chartwell make it popular with walkers and day visitors.
Although essentially rural in feel, Brasted functions largely as a dormitory and local-service village for people working in Sevenoaks and London, and supports small businesses, farms and some tourism. There’s a strong local community atmosphere centred on village events and the parish, and its combination of good road links and peaceful surroundings is typical of many attractive Kent villages close to the capital.
