Bardsey cum Rigton is a small, largely rural civil parish on the eastern fringe of Leeds in West Yorkshire. It still reads as a cluster of villages and farms with stone cottages and newer commuter housing, set among rolling arable fields and a network of public footpaths that make it popular with walkers while keeping a genuinely village feel despite the short commute to the city.
The area’s identity is anchored by the historic St Mary’s Church, Bardsey and several listed buildings, and agriculture remains an important local employer alongside small businesses and residents who travel into Leeds. That mix of heritage, working countryside and an active village community - village hall events, occasional pub life and local societies - gives the parish a quiet, well-connected character.
